Moments!

I walked into the unknown,
With folded hands I am gone;
The entire collection of time,
Over the years are burdens;
I could have managed chaos well;

You are still a stranger;
Pretending to be my friend,
You never play love song;
You do not bring chocolates;
I am conscious and aware;
You never take me home;
Now those years are gone.

Why did you let me go?
Everyone gets the exact life he wants;
Come if you need me!
Those were days;
Can never, never be wasted;
Seed me!

Its all there,
Trust me!
I wanted to tell you the life,
I always wanted to live;
Wanted you to believe!

This is the moment;
The moment of truth,

To the unknown

Going into the unknown,
Can I buy courage in the street;
I am going to do it again,
Maybe I get a lift to where I once belong!
The roads are weddings in the making,
My state changing!?

I am going alone;
Serious about my fate,
I break the mundane today,
Seasons are changes inside thee;
With little help from my past;
I want to be!?

The story can change,
But someone somewhere;
Already lived it;
The book just stitched it;
To the unknown;
Let me lead it

You!

You!

Entrenched with golden sunshine,
Your beauty bathed in summer warmth;
Armed with saccharinity, you redefine pristine,
Today I saw Life by my side,
In the deserted street of my heart;
Everlasting! How you ignite?

Further down the age,
There is an outrage;
Of owning a piece of that dream,
Can we team?
To win a life against those pathos!
There is calmness after all chaos.
There is a road beyond the wilderness;
There is hope in todays’ bitterness.

You enchanted everyone in the crowd,
You grew taller and I loud!
The meadows are not watered for eons;
You created a father and many sons,
You signed separations with wild thorns,
Your journey overturned many storms,

Days are getting longer,
Younger and stronger!
I have buried all the pains;
Yonder by the valley of rains,
Past can blot your present with stain,
Your yardstick is what you gain!
I am the corpse today – do not uncover,
Behold! You were never my lover;
My heartbeats dried with time,
While you bathed in golden sunshine.

End!

Sometimes hope is nothing but unfulfilled dreams;
Dreams – hardwired yearnings over time,
Achievement – It never rhyme,
Fulfil only when you are at your prime!
Love has always moved with time,
Love personifies humanity – divine,
New Avatar in the human mind,
Love – the sun still shine;
Love – the pristine deity of human pain,
Sometimes bondage and always in chain!
Sometimes rainbow against stormy rain,
Can also be ugly blood stain?
Sometimes shame!

Cleanse – prove your spirituality!?
Your subject need not be in captivity,
Clean the streets,
The hopefuls are carrying their dreams,
Their food their means;
Wake up!
Clean our river;
Of pirates and diseases,
Our children shiver,
Fight!
This battle is not yet a war,
The cowboys are not that far!
You know this storm every moon;
There is an end – very soon!
There is an end – very soon!

The injured are taken to the hospital;
And the dead to the morgue,
What about her tonight?
Who will show her the light?
Fight!
This battle is not yet a war,
The cowboys are not that far!
You know this storm every moon;
There is an end – very soon!
There is an end – very soon!

Blind Spot!

Captain! My Captain!
Cease the day as it comes;
Every moment of time,
It’s yours and its mine!
Make or break;
You Shine!

The list is endless;
Hopes unbound!
It’s never a sin to be restless;
Do not hang your shoes;
Never again feckless!
Deep inside a soul is living,
With dreams – endless!
You are forgiving!

You have surrendered in the past;
To the enemy inside;
You can enunciate again!
Lost your glory!?
Regain!
The journey can start once more,
Footsteps are but sand;
Those war cries are not vain!
Its time! You stand!

Let it Unfold!

I meander when my mind goes down;
Wander when my thoughts are only sound;
Infinitesimal footsteps from the past,
Few survived the journey few breath their last,
Some yearning buried in my heart,
For death we took birth;
For a life…we all start!

We traverse in the boat of hope,
Suspended in fervent dreams – the rope!
A beginning needed for every start;
Religion is governed only by birth,
Smudged with time – far from the past,
Holistic deduction for a new path,
Love dictates the journey of the heart.
New world bounded by old Turf.

Sunshine cannot be potted,
Earth cordoned and fence dotted,
The ships are built but predilections jolted;
Here is your ticket!
Go find your world,
Loiter in the wilderness!
Find your soul – A heart of gold;
Many climates from today, your story will unfold,
Humanity – again in the molding;
Darkness is an excuse to tomorrow’s sunshine,
Valor can coagulate your frail spine!

THE TOMBSTONE VERSE

This is a very popular Poem from my collection and many people has used this poem in different ways to motivate and inspire others. Not sure how you take this poem. Let me ask you one question- Do you need a second chance?
The Poem was written during my school days

I walked to the gate of the old cemetery
a visit to an old friend’s tomb
to tell him that I still long
for his friendship and days bygone.
Rows and columns of lifeless stones
few very old and some so young.
Death showered on all of them
engulfing all hopes , aspirations and feckless shame.

One tombstone caught my eyes
written in gold all at once
the name, year and one more verse
“Alas, I had a second chance”.

“Alas, I had a second chance”
the young dead said.
Are we ready for that date?
Close your eyes, what you read?

Life is short and work too many,
look ahead and you can sense the ringing bell.
No one gets a second chance
when we move to lifeless trance.

Live life and sow good seed,
think again, what it should read?
“Wake me up and I will tell
amazing things, what I did”

Renaissance

Welcome!
We worked towards a life;
Could have been nurtured to a new height,
A brand new life!
Future is ingrained in old insight.

There when the social stigma plays,
Few living could trace;
Embrace!
They say, “Life is a race”;
Today I have no one to face,
The track is isolated and I am not late;
I am not retired and can gain pace!

Lackadaisically I waited;
Halted!
Faltered!
With time I faded beyond death,
Human life – you cannot rate!
Fathers look for a child beyond his age,
I have a rage!
To go beyond this cage!

Adieu!

We worked towards a life;
Now I will embrace,
Give shape!
Revive the milieu,
Without you!?

My captivity you surmised:
Success can be late but never denied!
My imaginations today personified,
And is taking shape;
And I am back!

Apotheosis

The rain seems to have lost its charm,
When I am not in your arms;
The sea has lost its tides,
Never inspired me more than your strides.

What should I write in my page of life?
My fantasies are baked with love and hope;
I may loiter and get back to the ride,
But never in that road.

Sometimes pains outperforms the tears in your eyes,
But yours – all lies;
Sometimes hunger is an act of the heart,
Colorful bubbles of life but dies.

I triumphed many an act of life,
Lost in the final fight!
My remorse often challenges my might,
Never reclaimed my light!

The signs are clear

The signs are clear and I am not too far,
The road is dark and dusty;
The Climb arduous and I am thirsty,
But that emblematic gesture and I am not too far.

Life has many meanings for a thinking mind,
Sometimes we strain and cry;
Before I count my last breath,
Feeling of triumph I need, I should try.

The signs are clear and I am not too far,
If I nosedive today, who will laugh?
I have left a trail of laughter’s behind,
Life has many meanings for a thinking mind,

We live many lives and die once;
Spouse, brother, Mother and friend;
Sister, daughter and a loving father till the end,
Who else am I? I need to comprehend.

Let me expunge my name and my affairs,
Pull my clothes and fancy dreams;
Who am I now? Can I pretend?
Life has many meanings and I do intend.

Unregimented!

Draw inspiration from the pond,
Go to the sea and appreciate nature’s bond!
You believed when nobody else,
With ‘silence’ you shared your bed;
With fortitude you moved, though late,
With courage you love all those hate,
With pride you took the street,
Those memories, you never retreat.

Journey! human beings undertake,
With time you reach your dead bed;
Many a stories in your lives slate,
You have decided before the final rest;
We all know how the blood tastes,
Earn your daily bread!
There is something in everyone’s plate;
Your laboured fruit, others bread spread.

Sometime I wonder,
Where! What should I ponder!?
Those mountains never told me their age;
River Brahmaputra flows with rage,
The sun pioneered grace!
Face and defy as others; just a face!
Life leaves unbound trail - you trace;
Sometimes slowing down is also a race.

A Blogger's Dilemma

I am having difficult times writing this days. I am finding it difficult to post even one post per week. When I sit down to write something I am more worried about the look and font etc. more than the subject. Who is not having difficult times? Anyway I have decided to write something. Recently I visited UK and Ireland and was there for more than 2 months. I had a good time and more importantly a great experience. However I lost something very important in the process, my website –http://www.shamsud-ahmed.com. As I was away I could not update my subscription to my domain company and they have put my domain name for auction. I never thought something of this short happens and realized that someone from Arizona bought my domain name. I lost everything! My readers, my rankings and though I tried calling the helpline they informed me that I have to buy back my own domain at a premium price which I cannot afford. I am not sure why someone will buy my domain which has my name in it with barely 300 hits every day.

I had to do something fast before losing all my readers. This is when I ended up buying one more domain and this time allowing them to deduct money from my account every time my domain expires. Relief! But what about my readers? I wrote back to many of them and also started writing to Indiblogger and other websites where I have readers. Today with lots of effort I am back to where I started. I now have 100+ readers coming in every day. By the way my new website is simply named as http://shamsudahmed.com

With so many things happening in the back ground I wanted to tell the world about my recent progress in the Poetry world and I am very late but with my website back to gaining its readers back I am more excited now to start working on newer projects.

Two of the anthology where I contributed got published last month.

The Dance of the Peacock is a great peace of work with more than 500 pages of extra ordinary work. Thank to Vivekananda Jha who conceptualized the idea and finally brought the book into the limelight. Reviews on the book is available in various sites; however, let me put forward two of the more comprehensive reviews on the Book,

The dVerse Anthology: Voices of Contemporary World Poetry [Paperback] is an effort by prominent author Frank Watson. Frank Watson was born in Venice, California and now lives in New York City. He enjoys literature, art, calligraphy, history, jazz, international culture, and travel. His books include Fragments: poetry, ancient & modern (editor), One Hundred Leaves: a new, annotated translation of the Hyakunin Isshu (editor and translator), and The dVerse Anthology: Voices of Contemporary World Poetry (editor). His work has also appeared in Rosebud and Bora literary magazines. Frank shares his work on his poetry blog (www.followtheblueflute.com) and his Twitter account (@FollowBlueFlute).

Book Description
Publication Date: July 28, 2013

From America to Nigeria, Germany to Malaysia, and all around the world. One voice in the dark joins another, then another. Soon there is a chorus of voices and the night comes alive. No two voices are the same, and each adds depth to the song. Soon it spreads and people in the next town are singing, then in the next country, and then in all the continents of the world. Different languages where the words don't sound the same, but the heart unites as one. The song is not just the one you hear, but the one that plays "connect the dots" along the veins in your arm--as you inhale and--join in.
Explore the world of contemporary poetry through the inspiring and diverse work of over ninety poets from around the world. Drawn primarily from the poets contributing to dVersePoets.com, The dVerse Anthology features the unique voices and styles of poets as they ponder topics as varied as love, family, travel, conflict, loss, and much more. Take a peek and see what the poets have to offer about the pulse of life in modern society.
I am hopeful that both the book will do well and open new avenues for young poets. In the mean time I can say that I have learnt my lesson and would be extremely careful in the future. With newer experience come new opportunities. My next project is a series of TV Serials for a channel in North in India. We have already released the 1st season of jivan.com and now busy working for Season 2.
I will update you all next time,

Do not forget to visit the launch of “Inspired by Tagore” where I got an opportunity to contribute one of my works. It’s great to see your working getting published which is nothing but a validation of your work, it’s incredible!!

Let me end this conversation with a Poem which is why I am here in the blog space and my website too

I…

I…
Uproar from the depth of my soul,
Pleading to you young and old;
I…
Unseen unheard;
In yesterday’s world,
Life measured against gold;
Trigger ready in the courtyard,
The city is not safe;
Villages – Dead!

I
Walk out of the bed;
Every day to some unknown dead;
Neighborhood secured by the knights;
My children away and mother inside,
Greed is no more about bread;
There is much beyond hatred!

I…
Crosses borders seeking peace,
I am a child…don’t understand your treatise;
Back home…there is fight for basic need,
I don’t understand – I bleed!
The army finally decided to retreat.

I…
Sell happiness in the dark alleys of yesterday;
You can be my guest tonight;
For happiness is not always pleasure;
My pain is your leisure,
When the sun rises tomorrow;
Your beautiful day – Can I borrow?
Let me measure your happiness with my sorrow.

I…
Am always there in the street corner,
This progressive nation is big enough to hold me;
I lay beside the scrapheap and one day I will be part,
My soul, my journey, I Depart…played my part;
When your foods rot – remember I starved!
In the silence of the night I too barked.

I…A being …A life
I rejoice in the past …I am alive,
The populace – beehive;
I let it go …..Existence Survive!
I…

Cheers and Keep Winning,
Sam

Barbed Wire

Barbed Wire

With Optimism, reveries and ambitions they move,
with death snubbed and life in the cross fire,
their world in a suitcase- they move;
Destination anywhere – this human chain – moves.

From their soil in Bangladesh;
to the land of the might rhinos,
they cross the mighty Brahmaputra;
Heavy heart, wild fancies and hope,

From the land of Mexico,
To mighty America;
From the land of the Czars,
To unknown habitat- and beyond the Thar.

Expatriates, Refugees, Emigrants?
Ethiopian?
Iraqi?
Burmese?
Somali?
Sudanese?
Vietnamese...........They move,
Life in a suitcase; only option- they choose.

No soul adjudicate such fate,
Sometime it gets late;
Their life enclosed in the edge of a razor blade,
The Wars!
Terrorism!
Shelling!
Nature’s folly!
Liquidations? And more
They race.

The world was a free land and was never fenced;
The Mexicans now digging;
Few swims to exaltation; out of sense.
Few enclosed in ampoules, sails in painful symphony,
Trying to re-write their destiny.

If money can’t buy happiness;
Ask the poor the cost of blood;
If money can’t buy happiness;
Ask the courtesan the cost of lust;

Money can’t buy happiness?
The sea makes you smile;
But what takes you that mile?
Life in a suitcase- wild.

Flibbertigibbet

Flibbertigibbet

Floats bobbing on the surface of the water,
Here they are and gone;
Life seldom dictates terms,
We ignite in the float of time.
Juggernaut! Juggernaut! Juggernaut!
The power of a thinker’s might.

Push some sanity into your nerves,
Doldrums in my head;
That Apple still symbolizes Eve’s folly;
Adam still pushes life’s trolley.
Immanuel! Immanuel! Immanuel!
Life equipoises so well.

Scornful and haughty – those actors in the street,
Plagiary of thoughts reminiscent of the human race;
Poignant memories rushes streams down the cheek,
Nescient actualities sometime reeks.
